When God saves someone from sin and death, he saves them to the family of God. On this side of eternity, believers unite themselves to local church bodies as God intended.

Membership is the formal commitment a Christian makes to belong to a local church. As a member united to the body, one commits to protect the unity of the church, share the responsibilities of the church, serve in the ministries of the church, and support the testimony of the church.

At Anchor Church, we like to say that membership isn't like a contract made to a social club or organization. Membership is the commitment we make to belong to one another in the season God has knit us together for his glory and our good.

What is membership?

How do I become a member?

We offer membership classes twice a year. Our membership class is designed to help you understand our beliefs, our mission and methodology as a church, and our expectations for those who desire to partner with us in our mission to know Jesus and make him known.

After you participate in a class, you will sit down with an elder to talk further about any questions you may have, to share your testimony, and get to know each other more.

  • If you desire to become a member, we encourage you to first get involved in a community group. You can find out more information about groups here
  • We also encourage you to join a Serve Team. It's a great first step!
